Tarah Talakoub, D.O.

A native Texan, Dr. Tarah Talakoub was born and raised in Beaumont, TX, and attended college at The University of Texas at Austin, earning a degree in Biology with a minor in Medical Ethics. She went on to contribute to cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, where she assisted in the development of the CA-125 biomarker for the early detection of ovarian cancer. She then earned her medical degree at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, prior to completing her Internal Medicine Residency through the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Plaza Medical Center / Medical City Fort Worth, in Fort Worth, TX. During her residency training, she collaborated on and presented multiple case studies for regional and state conferences, and was awarded best case study at the 61st annual Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) midwinter conference, in Dallas, TX.

She then pursued her longtime passion by completing her Fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System / University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), in Los Angeles, California. During her time training, she continued to participate in research, presenting multiple posters at the ACAAI and AAAAI yearly meetings, and is also published in the Annals of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, March 2020.

She is board certified in Allergy, Immunology and Asthma by the AOA conjoint American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics (AOBP) and Internal Medicine (AOBIM). She is also board certified in Internal Medicine by the AOBIM. She is a member of the national allergy/immunology organizations AAAAI and the ACAAI, along with other local societies including the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society.

Dr. Talakoub’s mission is to provide her patient’s, both pediatric and adult, with a friendly environment in which to learn and understand about their medical concerns, and then together formulate a plan that works best for their lives. She is currently practicing in Pearland and Clear Lake, and accepting patients of all ages with allergic disease, chronic sinusitis, asthma, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, allergic skin disorders, immune system disorders, and more.
